Inter library Loans
Another expanded service at the Library involves Inter library Loans. Here are some frequently asked questions that describe this valuable service.
Q: What is an Inter library Loan?
A: Participating libraries throughout the United States agree to share books and other materials with each other. Because of this, patrons have access to materials that the Flagler County Public Library does not own.
Q: What is available?
A: Books on all subjects, and photocopies of newspaper and magazine articles are available.
Q: What is not available?
A: Current best sellers, materials on microfilm, rare books, genealogical materials, and reference books are not available through Inter library Loan.
Q: How long will I have to wait for a loan?
A: Normally the wait is one to two weeks. However, the period of time you will have to wait for your loan may take up to four weeks. Each Inter library loan request will vary.
Q: How long may I keep the material?
A: The library we borrow the book from sets the due date, but the standard loan period is two weeks.
Q: How do I place an Inter library Loan request?
A: The service is available to all library cardholders. You may place a request in person or by calling 446-6763 and asking for the Inter library Loan Desk.
