Inter library Loan Service

If you cannot find the book, magazine, or newspaper article you are looking for in the Flagler County Public Library, please try requesting the item through Inter library Loan.  The Inter library Loan Service gives our patrons access to materials our library does not own.  Books on all subjects, and photocopies of magazine and newspaper articles are available through Inter library Loan.  Unfortunately, most participating libraries will not loan current bestsellers, genealogical materials, reference books, audiocassettes, videocassettes, or compact discs.

Inter library Loan is a service that is available to all Flagler County Public Library cardholders.  You may request an item by calling
446-6763 and asking for the Inter library Loan Department.  Please be prepared to give the following information when making your request: your library card number, your name, your phone number or your email address, and the title and author of the item you are requesting.  You may also make an Inter library Loan request by sending an email to fcplill@yahoo.com

When you request an item through Inter library Loan, it usually takes one to two weeks to arrive at our library.  Once you pick up your Inter library Loan item, you may keep it for two weeks.  If you need the item renewed, it may be possible to get an extension from the lending library.  Since Inter library Loan items CANNOT be renewed through the Circulation Desk, please ask for the Inter library Loan Department.  You may request renewals by phone or email.

We hope that you use this free service when you need books, magazines or newspaper articles that aren’t in our collection. Remember that you can request needed titles by phone or e-mail as well as in-person when you visit the Flagler County Public Library.

For our growing group of patrons who use InterLibrary Loan the Florida Electronic Library (www.flelibrary.org) provides access to the “FloridaCat Group Catalog”.  This group catalog enables the patron to determine if a book is available in Florida and generally the number of out of state libraries which have this item.  You will need
log on and password information obtainable from our reference desk.
