FIND IT ON THE INTERNET:

The world of music is undergoing a digital revolution with technology known as MP3. Until very recently, only very sophisticated computer users could manage the intricacies of file transfer programs needed to download digital music. Conflicts raged between performers, recording companies and users over issues of copyright law and piracy. In recent months the legal and technical issues have been largely resolved. Today, users with adequate hardware and a working knowledge of the Internet can listen to and legally download digital music. For an introduction to MP3, refer to Maryanne Murray Buechner’s article "Your Guide to Digital Music" in Time Digital.
