Getting a Library Card How to Get a Flagler County Public Library Borrower's Card: Any Florida resident may receive a free Flagler County Public Library borrower's card by providing one of the following forms of identification verifying name and current address in Florida: 1. Valid Florida driver license 2. Florida voter registration card 3. Current utility bill 4. Florida property tax receipt 5. Valid Florida ID card
6. Checks with imprinted name and Florida address. FLAGLER COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY BORROWER’S CARD POLICY Adult residents of the State of Florida (age 18 and over) may get a free Flagler County Public Library borrower’s card for themselves and/or their minor children (age 17 and under) upon presentation of appropriate identification, showing proof of their current residence in Florida, and their signature. Appropriate identification includes one of the following: valid Florida driver license, Florida voter registration card, current utility bill, Florida property tax receipt, valid Florida ID card or checks with imprinted name and Florida address. All applicants must present to be registered for a card, including minors being registered by parents. Exceptions may be made for individuals with disabilities that prevent them from visiting a library facility. ADULTS who do not have acceptable identification may be issued a library card upon presentation of a completed and signed voter registration form. MINORS (age 17 and under) who are not accompanied by a parent or guardian will be provided with a blank registration form to take home, to be completed and signed by a parent or guardian. When the completed, signed form is returned to the Library, a card will be issued in the child’s name and an initial check out of no more than two items allowed. The physical library card will be mailed to the parent/guardian who signed as responsible party, thereby verifying residency and signature, prior to further use of the card. NON-RESIDENTS who OWN PROPERTY within the State of Florida are eligible for a free library card upon presentation of one form of appropriate identification as listed above and verification of property ownership. OTHER NON-RESIDENTS of the State of Florida can obtain a library card by paying a non-refundable user fee of $20.00 for one year or $10.00 for six (6) months. The applicant must present a form of identification showing permanent home address and give temporary local address. Note: Flagler County residents are eligible to use the resources and services of the VOLUSIA COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM, due to a Reciprocal Borrowing Agreement with Volusia County. In addition, St. Johns, Alachua and Nassau Counties offer a statewide borrower’s card for which Flagler County residents are eligible in the same manner that a free borrower’s card is available to citizens of those counties from the Flagler County Public Library.
