Athena: The Flagler County Public Library offers its card catalog online. Athena can be found on select computer terminals in the Main Library and at the Bunnell Branch or it can be accessed remotely here. Patrons may search our collection to determine if an item is in or if it is out, when it is due back and how many reserves, if any, have been placed on the title. Public Access Computers:
The Main Library has eleven computer terminals available for Internet
access, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher. The
Bunnell Branch has three computer terminals available with the same access
to programs except Publisher. Genealogy: The Main Library has one computer dedicated to providing in-library access to Ancestry.com and the New England Historical and Genealogy Society. These premier databases provide a wide range of unique resources for persons doing genealogical and historical research including US Census, military records, public records, vital statistics, and more. Also see Flagler County Genealogy Society for latest details Microfilm/Microfiche: Patrons are able to conduct research, scan and refine the quality of the material, and then print, email, or download to a floppy disc using touch screen capabilities. This service is available in the Main Library only and has instructions in English, French and Spanish. Info Trac/Gale Databases: The databases provide free access to the latest full text articles and summaries in hundreds of magazines and newspapers on a variety of subjects from health and finance to recipes and the environment. These databases can be accessed at the Main Library and Bunnell Branch as well as from home by logging on here and entering the password (obtained from the Library). The following databases are included: · Health and Wellness Resource Center and Alternative Health Module and Health Reference Center Academic: These sites offer the most current, authoritative information possible about health and wellness. · Biography Resource Center: Award winning biographies from hundreds of periodicals. Searchable by name, ethnicity, occupation, etc.

Resource Center: World and History Resource Center: · Kids Info Bits: Research tools for students in kindergarten through grade five featuring a developmentally appropriate, visually graphic interface, a subject-based topic tree and full-text age-appropriate, curriculum-related magazine, newspaper, and research content for information on a variety of topics. · Kids Edition-K12 and Kids Edition, Junior Edition-K12 and Junior Edition, and Student Edition-K12 and Student Edition: Kids is a periodical database designed for elementary school students, Junior is designed for junior high and middle school students, and Student is designed for high schools students with access to full-text magazines, newspapers, and reference books on a wide variety of subjects. · General Reference Center Gold: A general interest database that integrates a variety of sources in one easy to use interface. · Info Trac OneFiles: A one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics. Full-text articles with images. · Expanded Academic ASAP: A database that meets research needs across all academic disciplines. · Informe: Provides indexing, imaging, and full-text of popular Hispanic magazines. · Professional Collection: A collection of educational journals picked for their relevance in the modern world for today's professionals. · General Business File ASAP and Business Index ASAP: These databases provide services focusing on management, economics and politics. · :Computer Database: A database to find computer-related product introductions, news, and reviews in areas such as hardware, software, electronics, engineering, communications, and the application of technology. · What Do I Read Next?: Helps users uncover new reading adventures, find long-remembered favorites, and discover award-winning titles. · ChiltonLibrary.com: The most authoritative automotive repair information available to car owners. · Gale Virtual Reference Library: A database of encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. The Florida Electronic Library is a gateway to select Internet resources,
such as
www.MyFlorida.com which offer access to comprehensive, accurate and
reliable information for all age groups, including homework help and
resources for teachers. This feature can be remotely accessed · Florida on Florida: A comprehensive collection of information about Florida’s history, culture, and environment. · The Florida Memory Project: An interactive website that allows users to access historically significant items, bringing Florida’s rich history to life. · World Cat: A comprehensive online catalog of all Florida’s library holdings (includes Florida Cat). · Ask a Librarian: Live online reference assistance from Florida Librarians. Learning Express Library: This database can be accessed by logging on here or www.LearningExpressLibrary.com. It features interactive exams and courses for students and adults of all ages and stages of proficiency. This site also includes a Job and Career Help Center.
